My Sayulita Yoga & Winter Wellness Retreat with Drishti Journeys
Sayulita is a warm and peaceful winter getaway. A Drishti Journeys driver will greet you at the airport; look for the personalized name sign with the Drishti Journeys logo. It’s about an hour’s drive north to Sayulita. Door-to-door service to Hotelito los Suenos. The rooms are colorful and tidy. The beds are wonderfully comfortable. The best nights’ sleep I have ever had on a holiday was at Hotelito.
Settle in, then adventure into town. A quick 10-minute walk from Hotelito puts you into the heart of the village, surrounded by bustling restaurants, shops, and street-side vendors. The ocean is just a 2-block walk to the right from the central plaza. If you have time, drop into a beachfront restaurant for a snack before the opening ceremony and your first yoga practice.
The open-air yoga studio is on the upper level, surrounded by flora and fauna. Birds’ song is everywhere. You might even be graced with the squawk and chatter of parakeets as you dive into your final Shavasana of the day. The breakfast buffet is delicious, with various new offerings daily, including fresh juices and fruits.
You’ll have plenty of “me” time, although I highly recommend participating in group outings and dinners. A lovely perk about traveling abroad on a yoga retreat is the opportunity to make new friends!
My favorite restaurants in town include Mary’s (best Mahi Mahi tacos), Sayulita Café (whole roasted snapper), YAH-YAH Sayulita Café (great WiFi, Buddha bowls and coffee), Orangy Smoothie & Juice Bar (but they offer so much more), and Club de Playa Camaron (on the beach left of Calle Miramar).
Within minutes of my arrival, I could feel my body and brain decompress. The relaxation takes over. My mind and body were ready for a weeklong yoga journey, as well as the ocean, good food, and good company. Be prepared to be wowed.
Thank you Drishti Journeys! You made it easy for me to show-up and drop-in. I look forward to our next "journey" together.
Namaste,
Pamela
