Fun Things to do in Cuba

If you’re planning a trip to the Caribbean, we hope that the island of Cuba made your short list! From experience, we know there is no shortage of fun things to do in Cuba

There’s absolutely tons of fun things to do in Cuba!

The people of Cuba have done an excellent job of preserving the natural flora and fauna of their island. This is partially due to the fact that there was a travel ban between the states and Cuba for years, and partially due to their love for the little Island.  Either way, the travel ban is lifted and now it's time for a little exploration and fun in the Caribbean sun! We’re so thrilled to share with you some of the fun things you can do while visiting the island of Cuba.

Here are some fun things you can expect to do during your adventurous yoga retreat with Drishti Journeys in Cuba:

Old Havana

The city of Old Havana is an iconic picture of old Cuba at its finest— and there’s no shortage of fun things to do! From shopping amidst the colorful Spanish-colonial inspired architecture, to having lunch in one of the incredible plazas, and meeting kind hearted people along the way. We have bilingual guides for our tours and exploration days in Havana. We’ll go as far as to even explore old Havana and along the iconic Malecon with a tour in classic vintage cars. You may not have known it, but Old Havana is actually a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE site as well!

With us, you’re sure to have an adventure in the romantic capital city of Cuba.

Vinales Valley

Quite possibly one of the most fun things to do in Cuba is a little light hiking paired with stunning views! Our favorite place to do that is Vinales Valley. It was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site for old tobacco growing fields in 1999, and we’re positive you’re going to love the views and unique history surrounding Vinales Valley. Complete with bilingual guides to explain the history, show the path, and even point out the unique flora and fauna that live local to the area (like the Bee Hummingbird). Furthermore, we also include private horseback rides and a visit to an organic tobacco farm in Vinales Valley for a cigar rolling workshop! It makes for an incredible day— trust us.

Guardalavaca Beach & Reefs

With so many fun things to do in Cuba, and so many beaches, it's possibly difficult to decide on where to go! But we’re here to tell you, Guardalavaca Beach has stunning white sands and beautiful coral reefs you can explore all on your own within a wading distance of the shores. So bring a towel, coral safe sunscreen, and a snorkel kit! Just be sure to observe and not touch.

Plaza Mayor

The Plaza Mayor in Trinidad, Cuba is a colonial town and a UNESCO world heritage site. Trinidad, Cuba is the capital of sugar production in Cuba, and packed with fun things to do if you’re looking to explore a new destination. From the center of the plaza you can walk and see beautiful mansions, and the stunning Iglesia Mayor Santisima Trinidad. You can also visit the National Museum, climb the bell tower, and take a photo overlooking the entire city and countryside! With bright pastel colored walls and cobbled streets, it's a must visit on your Cuba explorations.

The carribean island of Cuba makes for a unique getaway packed with fun things to do! We know you’ll love visiting with us at Drishti Journeys.
